Anne Louise Chandler, a long-time resident of Kankakee, Illinois, passed away in Seattle, Washington, on Friday, July 22, 2016. She was surrounded by loving family. Anne moved to the Seattle area in 2013, and spent the last three years of her life with her daughters in Normandy Park. Prior to moving to the Northwest, Anne lived in Kankakee, Illinois, for 91years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

Anne Louise Chandler, a long-time resident of Kankakee, Illinois, passed away in Seattle, Washington, on Friday, July 22, 2016. She was surrounded by loving family. Anne moved to the Seattle area in 2013, and spent the last three years of her life with her daughters in Normandy Park. Prior to moving to the Northwest, Anne lived in Kankakee, Illinois, for 91years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

Anne touched the lives of countless individuals throughout her life. She began her career in the Navy, where she served as a WAVE during World War II. She met her husband in the military, and they had six children. For many years, Anne was the librarian for the Kankakee Public Library, and later worked as the school librarian at Bishop McNamara High School. When she retired from library service, she became Director of the Kankakee County Historical Society and Museum. Anne remained an active volunteer serving the community in many capacities until her relocation to the Seattle area. She will remain a treasure to her family, friends, and colleagues. Her children, their spouses, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild will remember her dearly, as will her many nieces, nephews, and their children. Donations in Anne's memory can be made to The American Cancer Society, or to a Hospice Care Center of choice.
The Funeral Service will take place at Yarington's Funeral Home in White Center, Washington, she will be buried at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
